Join Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum and our Co-Host Nature Discovery Center for a day of fun and excitement, exhibitions, demonstrations, talks, stories, games, and foods! It's our 26th-Annual Harvest Moon and NatureFest to be held on Sunday, September 22nd from 10AM to 4PM.
Scheduled Events;
10:30 to 11:30 - Wildlife Encounters-showing of many animals from around the world.
11:45am-12:30-Medicine Woods Walk with Karen Tuininga
12:00-12:50pm-Learn to use a compass with Rudy Bourget
1:00-2:00-Storytelling by HearsCrow
2:00-3:00-Raptor Rapture with Kevin Wall of NH Audubon.
ALL DAY EVENTS INCLUDE:
Demonstrations in Basket Making, Dreamcatchers, Leather Work
Drumming by Bob Durand
Facepainting
Eastern Woodlands Encampment with Chris Bullock
Ash Log Pounding with Linda Hartman
Canoe and Bowl Making with Gary Young and Deb Moody
And then of course we have two kids tents-one with Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum and the other with our Co-Host Nature Discovery Center.
All Day Native Foods prepared by MKIM Trustees and Staff will be available for purchase
Apple Cider Cold or Hot, Hot Coffee, Hot Tea, new this year Sumac Tea, and Cold Water
Hidatsa Bison Stew, Turkey Wild Rice Soup, Vegetable Chili, and new this year Corn on the Cob.
Corn Bread or Corn Bread with Wojopi
Apples, Choctaw Blueberry Honey Cake, and Pueblo Pecan Crescents.
Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum and the Nature Discovery Center will have free tours with paid Harvest Moon admission.
