The Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum of Warner will celebrate a special event on April 12th to honor its founder, Charles "Bud" Thompson.

Bud will be turning 98, and is the oldest resident of Warner. Over the years, he has touched many lives through his work building MKIM into a nationally-recognized museum. He also oversaw the restoration of many buildings at the Canterbury Shaker Village, and was instrumental in preserving the Village as a not-for-profit institution. His outgoing and friendly personality has impacted many, so MKIM is holding a card shower to honor Bud on his birthday.

"Bud thrives on social engagement," said Andrew Bullock, Director of the museum. "He would love to receive a note saying how his life and works have had a positive impact on friends, the museum or the environment. Please share your best wishes with a card, personal note, poem or home-made message."

On April 12th, a basket of mail will be presented to him. "Bud’s goal has always been to make Warner and the world, a more beautiful place.  Please help brighten his day by sharing your reflections on his many successes," Bullock said.

Cards and letters may be sent to:
