We’re excited to offer a Snow Snake Competition as part of our Winter Celebration in collaboration with the Abenaki Trails Project. The event will take place from 10 am to 3 pm on both Saturday and Sunday, February 26th and February 27th and is free to the public..
Learn how to play the ancient Abenaki outdoor game of Snow Snake. Toss a wooden snake into the trough of snow to see how far it can go!
Hot beverages will be available.
We will have a used book sale in the lobby, educational materials, and a great raffle item. The museum and gift shop will be open! There is no cost to go into the gift shop but regular admission applies to tour the museum (free for members).
If you are coming at 10 am on Saturday, please consider bringing a shovel to help construct the track. The timing of the recent snowfall means that we anticipate some work to be done Saturday morning.
